(More customer reviews)I've read reviews on other sites that call into question the durability of this rod. Well I own 5 in varying powers and actions and have never had a single issue. I take very good care of my equipment, but I definitely put everything through the ringer just to be sure. (pulling up anchor and reeling my little pram over to the lilly pad or log I'm hung up on is all the quality assurance I'll ever need.)

That all being said, I really can't say enough about this rod. I first purchased the 5'6" ultralight about 3 years ago at a local store.... based solely on how it felt in my hand. I was looking for an ultralight setup and was brokenhearted that I'd probably have to shell out 300 bucks for a loomis or fenwick to suit my extremely finicky fishing tastes. And lo and behold, on the rack for 25 bucks was perhaps the most perfect rod I've ever held... I guess it could be improved with a split grip handle but I'm not that picky! It's definitely well balanced enough. The handle is extremely comfortable in the hand (no exposed threads on the reel seat, which I think should be outlawed because it's just uncomfortable as can be!) The rod has plenty of backbone and a nice fast/extra fast action and a stiff tip for great hooksets along with extreme casting distance and accuracy. The guides run extremely smooth with both mono and braid. The two piece construction helps a lot if you don't have excess room to store it in your car or truck, although admittedly I've only taken mine apart once or twice since I bought it. All in all, I don't think I could really come up with a better rod for 10 times the price... and in the price range it's in, it's unbeatable!
